Lace Types and Sizes

Lace type and lace size answer different questions. Compare them separately before choosing a construction.

Read the two labels

A label such as HD or transparent describes the lace category used by the supplier. A label such as 4×4, 5×5 or 13×6 describes the stated lace area. Neither label alone establishes fit, durability or an invisible result.

Compare the area

Use the confirmed width and depth in the listing to compare available parting area. A closure, frontal, 360 construction and full lace construction are not interchangeable. Ask which sections of the actual cap are lace.

Check the finish

  • Is the lace already cut, or does it require preparation?
  • What parting and hairline work is included?
  • Which cap measurements and retention features are supplied?
  • Does the selected variant match the construction in the photograph?

Choose with your installation in mind

Take the listing to your stylist if you are unsure. Confirm the construction before cutting the lace or making another permanent change.
